Driver in fatal accident hit with slew of charges
The man at the wheel of a pick-up truck involved in a fatal accident in Toledo has been hit with a mountain of criminal charges. Fifty-two year old Ignacio Avila of Belmopan yesterday was charged with Manslaughter by Negligence, Causing Death by Careless Conduct, Driving a Motor Vehicle Without Due Care and Attention, Driving a Motor Vehicle with Alcohol Content above the Prescribed Limit, Driving an Unlicensed Motor Vehicle and Driving a Motor Vehicle not covered by Third Party Risk Insurance. Thirty-two year old Julius Oh of Santa Cruz Village, a passenger in the truck, died of injuries when Avila drove his vehicle off the Southern Highway near the Golden Stream Bridge.
