CITCO makes donation to Salvation Army
As the Salvation Army continues to send out letters of appeal for its Christmas Drive, today it received a significant donation from the Belize City Council. The cheque, which was handed over to Regional Commander Major Errol Robateau, will be used for the children’s luncheon to be held on December fifteenth.
Major Errol Robateau, Regional Commander, Salvation Army
?I am very pleased to receive this donation because it will be a help to us. The dinner is going to cost us between five to six thousand dollars, just for the dinner alone excluding the toys. So this will be a big boost to our effort and we are grateful to the City Council for their help in this respect.?
Hyacinth Latchman, Councillor, Social Services
?We know that every year the Salvation Army caters for a thousand underprivileged children in the city for a Christmas party and we wanted to make it a little bit easier on them so I asked my fellow councillors, you know the Christmas party is coming up, and we wanted to do something extremely special for them. So we all decided that two thousand dollars?I am sure that the Salvation Army is going to doing well with it. They have always been doing well with whatever donation they get.?
Major Errol Robateau
?We hope that the folks will still respond. We know that we have some faithful donors but those who receive their letters late or don?t receive a letter and they know that they usually give we ask that they send their donation.?
In addition to the financial contribution, Belize City Council employees will also be extending a helping hand at the Christmas luncheon.
