Student’s serious injury in highway accident
There was a second accident…it happened hours later, but on the George Price Highway. At about four this morning, an SUV vehicle driven by Leo Delvalle crashed into a church in the village of Teakettle. Travelling along with Delvalle were Janine Wade, Jamie Stanley and Danielle Quan. The group was heading from San Ignacio to Belmopan when Delvalle was reportedly blinded by an eighteen wheeler truck coming in the opposite direction. His vehicle ran off the road hitting two of the pillars that sustained the front part of the church’s wooden structure. Unofficial reports say that Delvalle and Wade received minor injuries, while Stanley sustained a broken leg. Quan was the most affected as she suffered facial fractures as well as a cerebral concussion. According to Quan’s mother, Marrisa Alamilla, she is in critical condition and there is brain injury.
