Mennonite documentary premiers in Spanish Lookout

It is a community in which television is not always welcome … but that did not stop several hundred residents of Spanish Lookout from attending the premier of a video documentary on the Mennonites of Belize. The fifty-four minute presentation, a co-production between Channel Five and Trinidadian writer/director Bruce Paddington, features interviews and scenes from Spanish Lookout, Blue Creek, Shipyard, Barton Creek and Little Belize. It seeks to promote a better understanding of a Belizean ethnic group that may be small in number but very great in its impact on the nation. The film will be aired later this month here on Channel Five and DVDs are currently on sale at our studios on Regent Street as well as the Computer Ranch in Spanish Lookout.
