Computer problems mean no U.S. visas til Nov. 29
If you were planning to obtain a visa to visit the United States in the final two weeks before the embassy closes for its move to Belmopan, you’ve got a problem. According to an official release, a computer meltdown in the consular section has meant that since Monday they have been unable to issue any visas. It appears that with operations due to shut down from November thirteenth through twenty-fourth anyway, they’ve thrown in the towel and are closing shop early. This means that whether you have already applied or are just initiating the visa process, you will have to sit tight until the twenty-ninth of November … and don’t forget: the embassy will be located in the nation’s capital, not on Gabourel Lane.
