N.T.U.C.B. to address release of couple from Kolbe

Earl Jones

It has been reported in other parts of the media that Colive Casimiro’s release was, according to information furnished, a pre-emptive measure to stop him from protesting his wife’s dismissal.  The N.T.U.C.B., says Jones, is yet to formally address the matter with the management of the Kolbe Foundation.

“There was a series of breakdowns which management had looked at and management had decided that it is time for us to move on, right.  Mr. Casimiro, like Mrs. Casimiro, was called in.  We had discussed with him, right, and as a matter of fact we had parted ways on mutual grounds.  It is not like we did not discuss it with him or we did not agree that okay it’s time for him to move on.  Yes he did, he agreed that it is time for him to move on after we had discussed with him.  So we gave him all his benefits, all his dues, whatever he was due with the foundation and we moved on.”

“Now both issues, seeing as though we are taking them individually, both issues have been presented before the National Trade Union Congress of Belize.  I believe it’s either for arbitration of some sort or to try to get to the bottom of what actually transpired in their particular cases.  Can you speak to me, as the C.E.O. of Kolbe, as to what happens hereafter, in terms of what N.T.U.C.B. will present to you guys?”

Earl Jones

“The National Trade Union Congress of Belize has never indicated to Kolbe Foundation that they are representing any employee or former employee of Kolbe Foundation.  They have never done that, they have never expressed their concern to sit down and dialogue so that they can get a clear understanding of what is the problem and I believe that if they do come in or extend an invitation for us to sit down and dialogue they will probably see a different light because they are now going on what is being said out there but never getting the other side of the story.  Noh care how yoh mash di pancake there is always two sides.  So we welcome that dialogue in the interest of trying to resolve this issue.”

The Casimiros were not available for comment.
