Hype night during Corozal Bay Resort Concert
A concert will be held this weekend at the Corozal Bay Resort in that northern most district. In celebration of the one year anniversary of Father and Son Productions, the event will feature a host of local and international artists including Sharon “Bad Gial” Martinez, Andidre and international recording Jamaican artist Darrio among others. Today, the artists came to News Five’s studios inviting everyone to come out because the night will be full of Caribbean hits in reggae and dancehall music.

“It’s a break out anniversary for Father and Son. Everybody know Andidre now and that give the label wah lotta name, lotta respect both locally and internationally. So we di celebrate the one year break out anniversary of our label and we di bring in one of the artists weh work with wi lately from abroad, Darrio Subconscious. He’s coming to do a video shoot as well as perform in Corozal. Party start from Friday night at D*Spot Lounge, the autograph night. He wah host wah sit down competition and whosoever win goes on the stage with Darrio. The Saturday night is the official concert with a whole lineup of artist as well as a whole host of DJS will be at the place.”

“This is my third year here in Belize. I came in 2010 with Konshens for Krem’s Anniversary and then I came back about six months after that in 2011 in San Pedro for a two day event. So it is a great vibes and I am so excited because the fans them keep on emailing and tweeting that you need to come back to Belize. Some of the most popular songs weh Belizean people may be familiar with is from about ’08 (sings…). But right now, now, now; the girls them ah wait patiently fi hear mi say, “yo wine up yoself too much man, sit down.” Yo see so dah man thing man, dah mad thing. I di work pan wha new video called fed up. Ih just reach dah Belize but I know Channel Five wah get it to play cause you know Channel Five dah one of the leading stations in Belize.”
The concert on Saturday will start at eight and will go until three a.m. tickets are twenty dollars in advance and thirty at the door.
