Spain sponsors film festival
You may have thought that September celebrations were over … but not quite. For the next three days the Government of Spain invites Belizeans to the first Spanish Film Festival it is hosting to commemorate the occasion on Belize’s twenty-fifth anniversary of Independence. The festival officially opens tonight at the Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts.
Bernabe Aguilar Arigo, Consul General for Spain
?We have brought ten different films from Spain. There are some drama films, some comedies, and some action movies. I think there are quite different, and we would like the Belizean people to know a little bit more about the Spanish society and the Spanish film industry. And then we decided to bring a diversity of movies. The opening ceremony will take place today, and the first movie could be seen at seven forty-five p.m. at the Bliss Cultural Centre, and then tomorrow–Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, there will be three other movies everyday. It begins at two p.m. and the second movie at four thirty and the third movie at seven p.m. Three movies everyday.?
Entrance is free and Belizeans are encouraged to attend the shows.
