Cops find suspect with Glock stolen from Special Branch
We don’t usually run news of confiscation of unlicensed firearms … but the bust that occurred in the wee hours of Saturday morning certainly rates a mention. The gun in question, a Glock nine millimetre pistol, was found by police in the pocket of twenty-two year old Raymond Myers when he was stopped at two fifteen a.m. on Vernon Street. Myers, a resident of Cider Street in Belize City, was charged with Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition, this morning in the court of Magistrate Robert Ordonez. But he was also hit with a charge of Handling Stolen Goods, when a check of the records indicated that the gun in question had, on March seventeenth, 2006, been reported stolen. The victim? A police officer assigned to Special Branch. Myers was granted bail of five thousand dollars and will return to court October nineteenth.
