One dead, two injured in N.Hwy crash
Police in the north were equally busy as a traffic accident claimed the life of one man and left two others seriously injured. The accident occurred around four thirty on Friday evening between miles sixty-seven and sixty-eight on the Northern Highway. Corozal police report that the vehicle’s driver, identified as eighteen year old Jiladio Cawich, was driving a green Saturn station wagon but lost control of the car causing it to run off the road and overturn. Seventeen year old Marcus Cobb, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was in the back seat, crashed through the windshield as the vehicle flipped. Cobb received severe head injuries and died on the spot. The deceased’s brother, Andy Cobb, sustained serious head and body injuries. Today, Cobb and Cawich are reported to be in a serious condition at the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk.
