G.S.T. June refunds credited in latest B.E.L. bills
Consumers will be happy to learn that those long awaited refunds of G.S.T. paid on June light bills are now being reflected in current invoices. The G.S.T. charges were placed on the June consumption at the behest of the government, even though the effective date of the new tax was July first. Following complaints from the public, G.O.B. agreed to refund the June tax payments, but it took a while for the electricity company to work out the billing details.
