Mr. Belize/ Ms. Body Figure set for tonight
Among the many activities planned for this weekend, tonight Belize’s “buffest” will take stage for the annual Mr. Belize and Ms. Body Figure competition. The event is set to take place at eight tonight at the Bliss Institute for the Performing Arts and according to President of the Belize Amateur Body Building Association, Alfred McKenzie, the show is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Alfred McKenzie, Acting President, B.A.B.B.A.
?We have our crowd that usually supports body building. Like last year I they will enjoy themselves and they will get their money?s worth.?
Janelle Chanona, Reporting
?What?s going to be the most exciting part??
Alfred McKenzie
?Well besides the female part, I think the seniors will be most exciting. The juniors will have a large line up, probably about six first time or second time competitors, and like I said the most exciting part should be the female competition and the seniors.?
?We have body builders in the junior A, junior B, seniors and masters division and approximately five females in the body figure competition. For the first time we will feature an exhibition by the only fitness female in Belize who won silver medal from the Central American Games, Kimberly Weir. She will be doing her routine that she won with in Guatemala City in the Central American games.?
Deon Danderson, Mr. Belize
?I just want to say to the youths them that they always have something in the gym for them to do. Like body building or boxing or any other sport that would keep them off the street–instead of having them use or sell drugs or stuff like that.?
Tickets are twenty dollars premier, fifteen reserve and ten dollars general.
