Man charged with rape of 14 year old

Another report of sexual abuse against a minor has been reported to the authorities. According to the fourteen year old victim, on August twenty-sixth, forty-five year old security guard Owen Smith had sex with her against her will. Following police investigations, Smith was arrested and charged with rape and unlawful carnal knowledge. In court today, prosecutor Jacqueline Willoughby objected to bail but Magistrate Sharon Fraser overruled and granted the accused bail in the amount of five thousand dollars or two sureties of the same amount. The case has been adjourned to October twentieth. At the time of his arrest, Smith had been working as a security guard at Mark Espat’s Albert Constituency Office on Yarborough Road.
