Three hospitalized following Concepcion brawl
Meanwhile police in the north were busy over the holiday weekend as three men were sent to the hospital suffering from gunshot and machete wounds following what they believe was a drunken brawl in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Authorities say the victims, identified as twenty-two year old Pablo Mendez, twenty-eight year old Cliff Mendez and twenty-eight year old Damian Aguilar, were drinking in Concepcion Village when a misunderstanding occurred between Aguilar and the two Mendez’s.
During the altercation Cliff Mendez reportedly pulled his machete and chopped Aguilar to the left hand. That is when the men heard a shotgun blast that caught Cliff and Pablo Mendez to the left side of the chest and the body respectively.
All three young men were taken to the Corozal Hospital where they have been admitted to ward. Police say they have not ascertained yet who fired the shot but they have detained two persons for questioning.
