Road accident kills Sarawee villager

A villager of Sarawee in the Stann Creek District is dead after he was knocked down on Monday night. The incident happened sometime before eight o’clock between miles four and five on the Stann Creek Valley Road and claimed the life of fifty four year old Dennis Peters. Police investigations have revealed that Emily Cornelius of Silk Grass Village was driving a grey four door Mazda car from Pomona to Dangriga when she knocked down Peters who was crossing the road. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Southern Regional Hospital. Police have since charged Cornelius with Manslaughter by Negligence, Causing Death by Careless Conduct, Driving without Due Care and Attention and Driving an Unlicensed Motor Vehicle.
