Dangriga Town Council to host Cultural Sunday

For the past five weeks, residents of Dangriga have been cultivating cultural spirit through social interaction. According to Town Councillor Barbara Noralez, “Culture Sunday” has something for everyone.

?The objective of Culture Sunday is to bring some kind of positivity to Dangriga and at the same time allow our local businesses to make some money. The whole town turns out. In fact, it?s an event where you don?t have to worry about having money. So the family could, everybody can get dressed up and come out for an event where you don?t have to buy anything, you don?t have to pay to see entertainment at that level. We?ve been lucky to have Moho Bob in the country, he will be performing. Chico Ramos, and all the Punta Rock greats. We have people like Mario Gonzales. This Sunday?s M.C. will be Gwen Nunez Gonzales, so the greats of Dangriga and the best will be coming out. And one of the other highlights of this Sunday is that the show will open with a Mali and that?s a Garifuna ceremony. And in fact I spoke in length with Mariano who says that our community needs that level of healing at this time.?

Culture Sunday will be held at the Wadaani Shed on St. Vincent Street. The event is scheduled to start at five.
