Teenager chopped to death in Mountain Pine Ridge

A teenager is dead tonight following a disturbing attack in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. According to police, twelve year old Bartimeus Tesecum has reported that he and his brother, eighteen year old Samuel, were sleeping near a shed at the Barton Creek Outpost Lodge but around three on Thursday morning they were awakened by two men armed with machetes. The unmasked attackers mercilessly brought down their blades on the brothers, inflicting chop wounds to Samuel’s head and body and to Bartimeus’ back and head. The boy says he was able to escape the wrath and hid in a nearby citrus orchard. When Bartimeus returned to the scene with help, Samuel was dead. His traumatized sibling was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. We understand three men have been detained for questioning but up to news time no arrests had been made. Investigators say a motive for the attack has yet to be determined.
