Cops name suspects in David Pook murder case

Story PictureWanted posters have been circulated across the country for two suspects being sought for the murder of David Pook. According to the cops, four men brutally tortured and then stabbed the twenty year old to death in the swamp near the Bingo King apartments on Faber’s Road. Head of the Criminal Investigations Branch, A.S.P. Chester Williams says the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

A.S.P. Chester Williams, Head, C.I.B.
?Our investigations into that matter have subsequently led us to four persons. In the person of Ronnel Gonzalez, Clarence Grant, Edward Henry and another male person only identified to us so far as Howard. All four persons are wanted in connection with that incident. However, this afternoon, sometime after one, we apprehended one of the suspects, Clarence Grant and he?s now in custody. He is expected to be charged this evening in relation to the murder of David Pook. We have issued warrants in the instance of Ronnel Gonzales and Edward Henry. We have not issued a warrant for Howard because his full particulars are not known to us at this time. From what we gathered in this investigation, the motive for the crime was over a female. Apparently, Ronnel and the deceased Pook, had some misunderstanding over a female. Some long time female who is no longer in the country as based on what we gathered. And that beef is what led to the unfortunate death of David Pook.?

?A.S.P., what was the break in the case, an anonymous tip or just doing your rounds, what led to the break in the case??

Chester Williams
?Well the murder case of Pook was one that everyone who visited the scene would have said, ?difficult for police to solve?. But good police work, good investigation by my officers at C.I.B. and likewise, the assistance of the public is what gave us the break through in the case. And I must take the opportunity to thank my officers and thank the community.?

Tonight we understand that Ronnel Gonzalez left Belize via the Phillip Goldson International Airport on Sunday bound for California. Local authorities have contacted their counterparts in the U.S. to arrange his arrest and subsequent extradition back to Belize. Meanwhile, the other suspect identified only as Howard, is described as being of Hispanic descent, is five feet four inches tall and is known to reside in both San Ignacio and San Pedro. If you know the whereabouts or full identity of Howard, you are asked to contact the nearest police station.
