But as police were processing the scene on Pitters Street, shots rang out in close proximity of the well known Pratts Fried Chicken. Two cousins, Cecil Gill and Rafael Francisco Aguet were heading to Pine Street from the direction of Ebony Street at about seven-forty when they were ambushed by a man standing at the corner of Hondo and Ebony Streets. Gill was shot to the nose and left foot while Aguet was wounded on the left shoulder. Both were transported to hospital. Duane Moody reports.

Just a stone’s throw away from their house on Pine Street, at the corner of Hondo and Ebony Streets, thirty-nine year old Cecil Gill and his cousin fifty-seven year old Rafael Francisco Aguet were shot as they were returning home from a quick run to the nearby shop.

According to the aunt of Cecil Gill, she was inside her home when at least eight shots rang out. Moments later she peeped out her window and saw her injured relatives.

Word on the street is that the shooting was due to gang rivalry between Back-a-Town and PIV Gangsters.
