And in Belize City, there were two shooting incidents on Tuesday evening in South Side Belize City which left three persons suffering from gunshot injuries. The first occurred around five-thirty p.m. on Pitters Street in the vicinity of Antelope Street Extension. Thirty year old Arturo Varela was involved in an argument with his common-law-wife and upon leaving his house, he observed two men putting on ski-masks at his mother-in-law’s yard located next door. Varela ran back inside his house, but was pursued by the masked men who kicked open the front door and fired several shots at him. Varela was transported to the K.H.M.H. where he was treated and discharged. Police have since detained four persons all of the immediate area pending the outcome of the investigation.
