Tests show Cross Country cyclists rode drug free
Immediately following the 2013 annual cross country cycling classic held in late March, several cyclists were selected to take a mandatory anti-doping test of which Channel Five was one of the sponsors. Well the samples were sent out and the results are back….the good news is that all the athletes tested negative for any form of performance enhancement drug within their system. That means that winner, Darnell Barrow, can officially receive his prizes as Cross County Champ. Barrow rides with Team Santino and News Five spoke with Santi earlier this week on the matter.
Santino Castillo, Santino Cycling Team
“There were all kinds of speculation Jules that this one was positive…that one was positive. Other teams were saying that Darnell might have been positive; that was all speculations and lies. All tests have gone out and back. And as I understand it, everything came back negative for all riders that were tested and so on Saturday, we will get our prizes and Darnell Barrow will be duly crowned ones again the Cross Country Champ and receive his prizes.”
