Corozal businessman detained on rape accusation

A Corozal businessman remains in police custody tonight pending a charge of rape. According to investigators, a sixteen year old girl has reported that Free Zone businessman Curtis Arnold had sex with her against her will on August thirteenth at a beach party in Corozal Town. Attorney Michael Peyrefitte told us this afternoon that his client was picked up for the second time today, following a preliminary interview session three days after the alleged incident. We understand that Superintendent of Police James Magdaleno travelled from Belmopan to Corozal to detain Arnold personally … a move that has only added to speculation that this case may involve some serious political manoeuvring. It is expected that Arnold will be charged later this week.
