Three arrested in connection with crime spree

Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of fuel from a Belize City gas station as well as armed robbery … and the charges may be just the beginning for Erwin Castillo, Paul Ferguson and Maxwell Anderson. For now Castillo bears the brunt of the prosecution including the Attempted Robbery and Aggravated Assault of Reina Portillo, Robbery and Aggravated Assault of Glendy Rivera, Making Off Without Payment of one hundred ninety-five dollars worth of gasoline from the Esso New Road Service Station and Keeping Unlicensed Ammunition. He is also charged with a Mischievous Act for giving police a false name. Castillo, Ferguson and Anderson are charged jointly with Conspiracy in the Rivera hold-up. All the offences are said to be part of a crime spree that occurred on the night of August twentieth and additional charges may be filed soon. In any case the men will be enjoying September celebrations behind bars as all have been remanded to Hattieville prison until their next hearing on September twenty-second.
