Well known city resident wins $75,000 Scotiabank raffle

She is already a well known figure in Belize City, but from this day forward seventy-eight year old Violet Gomez will most likely be recognized as the lucky lady who won seventy-five thousand dollars in a Scotiabank raffle. Violet’s lucky ticket was one of fifty-eight thousand entries in what proved to be a very successful promotion.

?Well, it will be staying in the bank for awhile before I figure out exactly what I am going to do.?

?From the beginning of March up to the end of June we were trying to promote savings to our customers here at the bank, and throughout the country of Belize. What we did to do that is that for each thousand dollars that people had existing in the bank, we would give them one ballot entry into this raffle. And for any new funds that they would bring in they would get two entries into this raffle.?

Scotiabank says it plans to reward its costumers with new promotions in the future.
