Corozal boledo vendor killed in robbery attempt
A boledo vendor from the Corozal District has been murdered in what appears to have been an attempted robbery. According to police reports, sometime after six Monday evening Silvestre Loza Jr. of San Andres Village was heading home on his bike on the San Roque Road when he was attacked by two men, who chopped him with machetes. Before the pair could jack the boledo vendor’s money bag, however, they were scared off by the arrival of bystanders. Loza later died of his injuries at the Corozal Hospital. Two suspects have been detained by police.
