Impossible and Advance head to 8 ball finals

Story PictureGood evening. I?m James Adderley and we rolling into your living room with this weeks offering of Sports Monday. Tonight the focus stays indoors as we venture into Triangle Bar for the semi-final showdown in the Guines 8 Ball Pool Tournament Friday night.

In the opening Robert Young of Advance could further his team?s lead from game one in this home and away series, so he tries to hide Angel Blair?s fifteenth ball but fails in this attempt.

Blair comes up to sink the fifteenth, while setting up himself perfectly for his shot at the eight ball.

And he completes the objective to mash Young 3-2 zip, and give the two points to Triangle.

For Amir Baeza the odds are not in his favour to sink the winning ball. Simply because of the degree of difficulty he fails in the attempt and Angel Vargas takes advantage. Here goes the eleven, then the nine, the fifteen follows and then the eight goes, but the king ball just barely holds up at the pocket mouth to make the shot count. Vargas goes on to win 3-zip.

This sets up the trend for the rest of the way in this particular clash people. Rosel Hernandez is about to run over Paul Hernandez 3-zip.

Larry Lisby also proved to be too much for Jose Noe Garcia, who also falls 3-zip.

In the meantime Raymond Reid comes out smoking against Dwight Warrior, going from the opening break to sinking the eight ball in his first opportunity at the table. He would go on to post a 3-zip win over Dwight Warrior, as Advance moves on to the championship with this 8-2 showing.

Meanwhile in the other semi Catt?s Place needed a miracle against Impossible is Nothing Saturday night after loosing game one 8-2. Well by the time we got there Ben had come from behind two down to hurt Allan McKoy, 3-2. While Kirk had blanked Lucho Munoz 3-zip, which wrapped up that serious for team Impossible is Nothing.

Impossible is Nothing goes on to post the 8-2 w and moves into the two game championship against Advance.

Game one between Impossible is Nothing and Advance comes up at Copa Cabana on Friday night, while game two is scheduled for Mike?s Club.

In football news the B.P.F.L.?s semi-pro season kicks off this weekend of twelfth and thirteenth of August, but unfortunately at press time the opening schedule was not available. But as soon as we get it thought we will be passing it on to you, so clear your schedule for this weekend as semi-pro football will be kicking off.

In B?League news, San Pedro Nairis stopped Caye Caulker 3-2, while Pickstock United rolled past Northern Pride 3-1.

Turning to the Cricket scene, Brilliant of Crooked Tree tied its semi-final series with Sunrise of Lords Bank Saturday at Lord?s Bank with a 192 to 162 victory.

The other series also saw a 1-1 stalemate emerge after Wicked 11 got a 110-62 win at Bermudian Landing over Excellence of Double Head. The match between Brilliant and Sunrise will be played at Lords Bank this Saturday the twelfth of August, while Wicked 11 and Excellence will settle things their differences on the nineteenth of August.
