Miss Nicaragua is La Reina De La Costa Maya 2009

The Annual Costa Maya Festival which pulls in the most visitors on San Pedro Ambergris Caye during any single event has always been a success. This year is no different. Each night brings a celebration that highlights the culture of the Latin American countries. On Thursday, the Reina de la Costa Maya Pageant attracted huge crowds to the beauties of the region. And before the night was over Miss Nicaragua, Maritza Rivas was crowned Miss Reina De La Costa Maya 2009-2010. This is the first time that Nicaragua has won the competition and Rivas also won the prize for Best National Costume. The first Runner Up was Miss Guatemala, Angelica Guevara Morfin and the second Runner Up was Miss Mexico, Marliese Ayala. The cultural celebrations continue throughout the weekend.
