Arlington Drive resident lucky to be alive
Thirty-one year old Marlon Usher, a resident of Arlington Drive, Belize City, is lucky to be alive tonight, following a shooting incident over the weekend during which he was injured. Usher, no stranger to the law, was the intended target of a gunman, who unleashed a hail of bullets at him whilst socializing on Central American Boulevard. Police investigation reveals that Usher was in the vicinity of an alley adjacent to Southside Butane Depot when a lone assailant on a bicycle emerged on the scene. The shooter, who rode up from the direction of 88 Shopping Center, fired multiple shots hitting Usher above the right elbow. Police later recovered three expended shells from the area. In February 2010, Usher was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm when he was caught on Caesar Ridge Road with a point twenty-five caliber Beretta pistol and five live rounds of ammunition during a random police search. He was sentenced to two years in prison.
