Armed robbers touch Brodies for $2,000
First they hit American Airlines, then Bottom Dollar and now Brodies. And while all these robberies are not necessarily related, they do have one striking similarity: impeccable timing. Around ten o’clock this morning, Brodies’ messenger Alfred Clarke, was crossing from the main downtown store to the company’s headquarters on Regent Street to make a deposit when he was held up at gunpoint. According to supermarket manager Sherman Sawers, this latest incident has them gravely concerned.

?This morning about ten o?clock our messenger being escorted by an unarmed security was heading over to our main office to take over some documents and some funds to the main cashier. On approaching the corner of Regent and Bishop, they were jacked by three robbers and they got away with all documents and some cash.?

?How much money did they take??
Sherman Sawers
?A little over two thousand dollars.?
Alyssa Noble
?You don?t know what kind of vehicle they were driving??
Sherman Sawers
?They were all masked, they were three men. There was one driving, they were waiting in a car facing towards the foreshore on Bishop Street and two of the men came out and jacked our messenger. And they made off in a silver like vehicle towards the foreshore and down towards Regent Street.?
Alyssa Noble
?Do you think that this was planned, that this was an inside job??
Sherman Sawers
?We are not sure yet, but we are not eliminating any possibilities. We have passed over the information to the authorities who are investigating.?
?We would like to plead to the law makers and the authorities that these guys are getting so brazen, that they are doing armed robbery downtown. The city is so congested at this time and these people are not afraid anymore. They are doing robberies, jacked armed robbery in front of a lot of people and I think they are getting very brazen in this time.?
Police are seeking two persons for questioning.
