One detained, one sought in Belmopan rape

In another incident of sexual assault–this time in the nation’s capital–one of the two suspects have been detained for the rape of a Belmopan woman. It is alleged that the assailants, armed with a shotgun and machete, accosted the victim as she got out of her vehicle at her home. She, along with her three year old son and ten year old daughter, were forced to drive to an area near Cotton Tree, where she was raped by one of the men and robbed of fifty dollars. They then forced her to drive to the Valley of Peace Road, where the woman alleges that she was raped again, this time by both men. A police patrol that came upon the scene was able to detain one suspect and police are seeking the second.
