Narda says she?ll sue over dismissal

After weeks of declining requests for interviews, former Social Security C.E.O. Narda Garcia has finally made a public statement … albeit in the form of an email. In her three paragraph release addressed to the media, Garcia rejects the findings of the Senate Special Select Committee, maintaining that (quote) “I do not accept that there has been any negligence or recklessness or any form of wrongdoing on my part.” Garcia goes on to state that she will seek legal redress and has advised her attorneys to begin proceedings. It is not clear what Garcia will be seeking from her former employer. She was fired by the Board on Friday at the request of the Prime Minister, who was in turn following the recommendations of the Senate Committee. Garcia had four years left on a five year contract, the terms of which have not been made public. A negotiated settlement was not reached prior to her dismissal and is presumably under discussion.
