Gunman Shot at his wife’s bar then shoots at the cops
A domestic dispute in the village of Camalote in the Cayo District almost turned deadly on Saturday. At about six thirty that evening Police were called out to Sirenita’s Bar after reports of a shooting. When they arrived at the scene they observed a man later identified as Roberto Castellanos walking away carrying what appeared to be a sixteen gauge shotgun. When they tried to get his attention he was observed loading the weapon before he turned and fired two shots at the police. They allegedly fired back and missed before Castellanos escaped. Preliminary investigations revealed that Castellanos is the common-law husband of Veronica Sarcenio, who owns Sirenita’s Bar. Reports are that before Police arrived Castellanos had fired several shots at the bar. Castellanos didn’t get far on Saturday. He was captured by Police later that evening and taken to the Belmopan Police Station where he is being held pending charges.
