Story PictureIn news from the labour front, today D.F.C. employees who walked out on Thursday returned to work as “a sign of good faith”. According to Vice President of the Christian Workers Union, Emerson Burke, the staff of the Development Finance Corporation was back at full strength at all branches. Burke says meetings were scheduled for this afternoon with the Prime Minister and Attorney General Francis Fonseca, but those talks have since been postponed until next week. Burke maintains that if their demand for consultation is not met the union will give Belmopan notice of pending industrial action. More than seventy employees of the D.F.C. left work on Thursday in protest of discount packages being offered on student and housing loans.
