P.U.P.?s plan for Bz. Rural Central still cloudy
In news from the world of politics, the suspense continues over who will be the P.U.P. standard bearer for Belize Rural Central. Incumbent area representative Ralph Fonseca is out of the country but his camp is maintaining that no decision has been made by the veteran politician as to whether he will seek a fourth term as area rep. While it is widely believed that Cardo Martinez has been handpicked by Fonseca for the job in the event he retires, the doc has yet to accept. Former Port Loyola representative Dolores Balderamos-Garcia has also tossed her hat into the ring as a candidate … provided that Fonseca bows out. According to officials from the P.U.P. secretariat, the cut off date for conventions, whether to endorse or elect is July thirty-first.
