Black Widow Thrillers: San Ignacio woman puts hit on her husband, but gets caught
On the first of August we broke the story of a woman in San Ignacio who had allegedly put a hit on her husband, a wealthy British national, Glen Wilson. It’s a story in the line of old Black Widow thrillers where the woman marries a man, then arranges for his death and makes off with his money. And it would have worked except that in this case, the intended victim got wind of the plan and informed the police. Ironically, the person approached to carry out the hit is a police officer and the story was corroborated by her. Since the story broke on August first, Frances Eve Ayala Wilson has been on the run; sought by police and by her husband, who was understandably more than a little put off by the intention to off him. News Five understands that against the wishes of the police, Glen Wilson put up flyers offering a reward for the detention of his estranged wife. And it apparently paid off. Early this morning, San Ignacio Police received an anonymous tip that Frances Ayala was at the home of her father, located on Benque Viejo Road in San Ignacio. The tip was accurate, and Ayala was detained at approximately nine thirty this morning. Because the report against her was made in Belize City, Ayala was transported to the Raccoon Street Police Substation where she is presently being held. Police sources have confirmed that she will be charged with Abetment to Murder, which is an indictable offense. She is expected to be formally arraigned in court on Monday. News Five was not able to reach Glen Wilson for comment. The British national has relocated to the island of San Pedro. Wilson and Frances Ayala were married in 2009. We are reliably informed that Wilson has filed for a divorce.
