Drunk pedestrian busted for drug trafficking
Detained for public drinking, tonight a Belize City resident is charged with drug trafficking after cops found crack in his pocket. According to court reports, officers on patrol picked up twenty-five year old Alton Roches from Jane Usher Boulevard for drinking in public. But when authorities searched his pockets at the police station, they found the ten grams of suspected crack cocaine wrapped in foil paper in his pants. In court, Roches wanted to plead guilty to possession but this afternoon, he was arraigned for the much more serious offence of drug trafficking before Magistrate Harrison Hulett. Roches was granted bail in the amount of four thousand dollars. The case has been adjourned until September seventh.
