Sheldon Sosa Arrested and Charged for Daring Brodies Robbery

A lone gunman managed to deprive James Brodies and Company of over forty thousand dollars in cash over the weekend, but police now believe they have the man who carried out the heist.  The suspect has been identified as twenty-four old mechanic, Sheldon Stanley Sosa, a resident of Albert Street who lives in proximity of the downtown Brodies store. Before noon today, Sosa was arraigned in the courtroom of Magistrate Clive Lino on a single charge of robbery.  Allegations are that on August thirty-first, Sosa used a firearm to hold up Security Officer, Elison Emmert Lambey, snatching from him, a bag which contained forty-six thousand and sixty-four dollars in deposits for First Caribbean Bank and the Belize Bank.  Lambey claims that last Sunday at about four-thirty p.m., while walking from the store to the nearby First Caribbean Bank on Albert Street, to make a deposit, he was held up by an armed gunman. His attacker demanded that he hand over the bag containing the money. When he did, his attacker ran toward Church Street and was seen riding away on a bicycle which he got from another man who was stationed at the corner of Church Street and Duck Lane. The suspect then rode off towards East Canal. In court, Sosa pleaded not guilty to robbery and is due back in court on November fourth. But before his arraignment for robbery, Sosa and twenty-seven year old Kenroy Tyrone Gillett, a Stevedore of Raccoon Street, appeared before the Chief Magistrate and were jointly charged with two counts of firearm related offenses. These relate to an incident on Wednesday when both men were found in possession of a nine millimetre pistol Beretta brand along with nine live rounds of ammunitions, for which they did not have license. Sosa and Gillett pleaded not guilty to the charges and were further remanded.
