Calbert Young charged for 55 pounds of weed found inside bedroom floor

On Sunday morning, the Gang Suppression Unit searched a one bedroom shack on Gibson Street off Faber’s road occupied by twenty-four year old Calbert Young. The Unit did not have to dig too far, inside the bedroom on the floor the officers found a sack containing seventeen and a half kilos of cannabis. An additional sack was found to contain seven kilos of cannabis.  In a further search of the room, the officers found two plastic bags containing four smaller bags of cannabis. In total there were twenty-five point three kilos of the drug, an equivalent of fifty five pounds of the drug. A digital scale and several black plastic bags believed to be used for the weighing and parceling of the cannabis, were also seized. Young was arrested and charged for four counts of “Possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.”
