Ramon’s reopens for business

The iconic Ramon’s Village Resort in San Pedro was destroyed by a massive fire on the night of August twenty-seventh.  The inferno gutted a total of thirty-two rooms, leaving in its wake millions of dollars in damages.  It has been several weeks since that hellish experience which left dozens of international guests displaced.  An urgent restoration effort by the proprietor and the staff of the resort, following the disaster, has seen the reopening of the business.  Thirty cabanas are now available for occupancy, and the popular Pineapples On The Beach Restaurant is once again open to the public.  The conflagration caused extensive damage to the property, one of the first hotels on the island to attract overnight tourism.  The resort is owned and operated by American businessman Richard Hedrick at an estimated value of eight million U.S. dollars.
