Erron Golanche of Acafellas killed in hit and run in Orange Walk
Popular beat boxing talent Erron Golanche, a member of the musical group Acafellas, lost his life on Friday night during a tragic hit and run in Orange Walk Town. Details of the road traffic accident are not forthcoming from the police department. What we do know is that Golanche was seated on a motorcycle and was about to turn into his yard when he was hit by a white pickup truck. While the rapper was flung into the middle of the street and left for dead, another victim had to be rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital for medical treatment. The bike was reportedly dragged a distance away from where the incident took place before the driver alighted the vehicle and made good his escape.

“I was given a call approximately eleven o’clock on Friday night that Erron was involved in a fatal traffic accident by a member of his household where he lived. I never had any reaction at the time because, you know, you’re just processing the whole thing to make sure that it’s true and it’s correct and everything. I had to go and see the site where the accident occurred and two ladies that were on the scene said that they were driving in a white minivan and they saw the person coming behind them crossing the street from one side to the other. So what they did, they pulled aside in order to let the guy pass but even after they pulled themselves to the side of the street to allow him to pass he still swerved across the street and hit Erron off the cycle where he was waiting to take the curve to cross to his home. After hitting Erron, Erron landed to the middle of the street. The young man behind him fell to the side with blood pouring from his mouth. They took the child to the hospital but they never took Erron because they said that when they checked him he never had any pulse, any movements. Immediately after they hit him he gave one gasp for breath and that was it. The driver, after hitting them, he continued driving. When you go to Palmar Road you’d see where he took the cycle almost four blocks. The mark is there on the street, from left to right, to left to right, until over the hill almost to where Lamanai Karaoke Bar is located and the cycle is totaled. After he took the bike that far, I guess it was pressure to, he couldn’t drag it all the way and he came out of the pickup, left it and ran away. Today when I called they say they still haven’t gotten the person. They know who it is. They have the vehicle at their police station in Orange Walk but they haven’t found the young man that is responsible for it.”
“Now Ms. Flowers, Erron is a well-known young man in society for his many talents. This is a major loss for you and your family. What would you like people to know about the Erron that we didn’t get to see on TV?”
Jerrilyn Flowers
“Well I think that with Erron what you saw is what you get because he was always open, always jovial, always has a sympathetic mind, say something nice. If he doesn’t have anything nice to say he will just walk away.”
Golanche was best known for his role in a recent Smart commercial during which he was featured roaming with his cell phone in Chetumal. Most recently he was part of Channel Five’s Be the Next Superstar.
