Man charged for attempting to use forged Bowen & Bowen voucher

A Belize City man who attempted to swindle Bowen and Bowen Limited out of three hundred dollars and lied about his identity was arraigned today in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court. Fifty-two year old Kent Peters, a resident of Iguana Street appeared before Magistrate Clive Lino where he was read four criminal offenses for forgery, uttering a false document, possession of a false document and committing a mischievous act.  Allegations are that on Monday, while in Belize City, Peters forged a Bowen & Bowen cash voucher dated September twenty-third. He is accused of facilitating the commission of theft when he used the cash voucher knowing it to be forged. Furthermore, he committed a mischievous act when he gave his name to police corporal Jamie Kibber as Kent Smith when his legitimate name is Kent Peters. Peters is out on bail and is due back in court on November fifteenth.  Allegations are that Peters added in the figure thirty to a voucher valued at six dollars upping the amount to three hundred and six dollars. But when he went to cash the voucher, he was caught and the matter was reported.
