Northern Highway accident ends with fatality
A head on collision between a bus and a Geo Tracker last night on the Northern Highway ended fatal for the driver of the Tracker. The incident occurred around seven-fifteen between miles forty and forty-one. It happened when the Tracker, heading towards Orange Walk collided with a Novelos Express Premier bus travelling towards Belize City. The impact caused the victim, twenty-five year old Christopher Young of Orange Walk Town, to suffer severe head and body injuries and he later died. Deputy Officer Commanding the Orange Walk Police Station, Inspector Selvyn Tillett, says the investigations suggest thus far that it was Young’s vehicle that crashed into the bus.

“The bus was heading from Orange Walk to Belize and the tracker was travelling opposite direction, apparently lost control, hit the left side of the bus and overturned. Mr. Young had a passenger by the name of Darrel Gallaway, thirty years of same address who received minor abrasions to his arms and scratches.”
Young, a student in Cuba, was home on holidays and would have graduated next year.
