While his brother-in-law is charged for aggravated assault with a knife
While Kevin Burgess was before the court for a domestic dispute regarding his common-law wife, on the flipside of the coin, his brother-in-law was also before the court to answer to a criminal charge. Twenty-four-year-old Donovan Pratt was slapped with a single charge of aggravated assault with a knife upon Casey Lozano. A report made by Casey Lozano is that on Wednesday at about seven-forty-five p.m., he was at home when he and Pratt got into an argument. According to Lozano, when Pratt exited his home, he came out with a knife in both hands and ran towards him. Fearing for his life, Lozano picked up his bicycle and threw it at Pratt. He appeared before Magistrate Hettie Mae Stewart this morning, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. While there was no objection, Pratt was offered bail in the sum of one thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount. He is due back in court on October thirtieth, 2013.
