…And Carlos Magana is just trying to get his job back
Both Blanco and Bacab feel that Magana’s motive was to garner support from the cane farmers to get back his post as C.E.O. of the Association at the cost of their reputation. And they believe Magana is throwing up a smokescreen to get the attention off his failures.
Silvino Bacab, Director, Cane Farmers Association
“It’s a pity that when he was hired he never went to the farmers as how he went yesterday. The Committee of Management get together and set him on the post and now that the Committee of Management laid him off, now he is sticking with the farmers. He supposed to at least collect the old debts, about eighty percent. How much he collected? Two years in position. Secondly, he supposed to find grants abroad. How much ih get? Apart from that ih got a lot in his terms of reference. If he comes back again I wah rate him one by one and see how much, if he qualify, as I say, I noh have nothing against him, ih could get the post.”
Adonai Blanco, Former Admin/Acct, OW Cane Farmers Assn.
“I don’t see the reason why he has to now be condemning other persons. He is just trying to get people involved in what has been his failure. Why can’t he accept his failure and turn himself down? Why should he be calling my name and other directors when he was working along with us?”
We also spoke by phone with another director whom Magana had accused of misappropriation. According to Magana, Enrique Carrillo misappropriated over thirty seven thousand three hundred dollars. But Carrillo also vehemently denied the charge and said “I know for a fact that I didn’t misappropriate any monies. I think what Magana is trying to do is get back in and he thinks I was involved in his contract not being renewed”.
