Witness charged with fabricating evidence
In other news from the courts, today a witness who changed his story on the stand during a murder trial has been charged for the offence. Donald Gaskin appeared before Magistrate Sharon Fraser today and pleaded not guilty to fabrication of evidence and contradicting previous evidence. He has been granted bail in the amount of six thousand dollars. Gaskin was arrested in the Supreme Court this week when his testimony in a murder trial completely contradicted his previous statement to authorities. It is suspected that Gaskin was threatened not to testify. As a result of Gaskin’s declaration during trial, the judge had no choice but to clear the accused, Jason Paulino, of the murder charge.
