Cuba offers nine additional scholarships
The Embassy of Cuba is announcing new scholarship opportunities for nine Belizean students to earn Bachelor degrees beginning the next school year. According to a press release issued today, successful applicants will be offered the chance to study physical education, primary education, electrical engineering and computer science, math and even ancient texts and languages. The scholarships include tuition, fees, room and board, books and a monthly stipend. Airfare and travel are not included. Interested students can obtain application forms from District Education Centres or the Ministry of Education in Belmopan. The completed forms must be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer no later than July twenty-fourth. According to Cuban officials, there are already almost one hundred and fifty Belizean students currently studying in Cuba, mainly in the area of medicine.
