Gunmen jack $12,000 in high school registration fees
While education held the spotlight today, not all the news was inspiring. At the same time the nation’s top primary students were enjoying well deserved congratulations, two gunmen were delivering a crippling blow to one of the city’s major secondary schools.

This black stocking mask is all the robbers left behind as they made good their escape after stealing over twelve thousand dollars from the Anglican Cathedral College. According to Principal Isamel Requena, the money was the fees collected from this morning?s registration.

?Two masked gunmen came in pointed the gun at the two people behind the counter and told them not to move. They then jumped over ransacked and took the money and the cash pan that contained all the proceeds collected from re-registration from second, third and fourth formers that are presently going here. Then they left.?

?Were you surprised that they actually committed a burglary at the time when a lot of activities were going on at school??

?Definitely, I am surprised. In fact, I am very disappointed because it is the first time that this has happened to us. Its money that the school needs, we as a high school and one of the high schools in Belize who are on a very limited budget, so it is really surprising and disappointing. I am really taken a back by all of this.?
One of the robbers had difficulty getting back over the counter an dint he process broke the office gate as he kicked his way out.
Registration at A.C.C. continues tomorrow … under the watchful eye of an armed security guard.
