3 Belize City youth to stand trial for 2012 murder of ex-B.D.F. soldier

Three Belize City men who were accused of the 2012 murder of ex-BDF Soldier, James Noralez appeared in court this morning for a preliminary investigation. Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith found that a prima facie case has been established and that Orel Leslie, Brandon Baptist, and Tyrone Meighan are to stand trial in the Supreme Court. Noralez met his untimely death at the junction of Faber’s Road and the Western Highway, in November 2012. Fourteen shots punctured Noralez; seven expended shells were found at the scene of the crime.  Noralez was pronounced dead on arrival at the K.H.M.H. about one hour after the shooting.  Their next court appearance will be at the January session of the Supreme Court in 2014.
