Novelo brothers assist in search for child killer

Story PictureLast week’s incident in Camalote cannot help but make us recall the sickening abduction and murder of five Belizean girls over six years ago. Today Channel Five’s initiative to bring to justice the killer or killers of those children has gotten a boost from the Novelo brothers. David and Tony Novelo, through their company Mobile Ads, have donated the placement of two billboards advertising the hundred thousand dollar reward on a Belize City bus. The ad is in English on one side and Spanish on the other. The bus currently services the Lake Independence circuit, but from time to time will be moved to other areas of the city in order for the ad to receive maximum exposure. On May twenty-fifth, Great Belize Productions, the parent company of Channel Five, announced the reward of a hundred thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer or killers of Jay Blades, Sherilee Nicholas, Jackie Malic, Erica Wills, and Noemi Hernandez. The girls, between nine and fourteen years old, were all abducted, sexually molested, and brutally murdered between October 1998 and February 2000. If you have any information on these killings, please call Crime Stoppers 0-800-922-TIPS. All calls and reward payments are anonymous. To place an ad on a bus, contact Mobile Ads at 227-2255 or Herbert Jerez at 665-6565 for more information and pricing.
