Conviction= 24 years behind bars for Bz. City man

A career criminal will spend the next two decades behind bars following a robbery conviction in Magistrate’s Court today. Twenty-three year old Gary Wilson White was found guilty of two counts of robbery and sentenced to two consecutive seven year sentences. The thing is White is already serving a ten year sentence in connection with another robbery conviction and today, Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord ordered that three sentences run consecutively. All told, it means that the defendant will be forty-seven years old when he leaves the confines of Hattieville Prison. Wilson White was charged following a report from police officer Louis Underwood and his common law wife Lisa Gallego. In February 2005, the couple told the cops that as they were closing their place of business, the Los Cocos Bar on Armadillo Street, they were held up by two men at gunpoint. The victims later positively identified Wilson White as one of their attackers. Police Prosecutor Clinton Magdaleno asked Lord for a life sentence for Wilson White under Chapter 102, section 20 of the serious crimes of violence law but the judge deferred to seven years for each count.
